We combine hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and counseling to create a holistic approach tailored to each client’s unique needs. Here, you’ll find support that’s stigma-free, empathetic, and focused on empowering you to thrive.
No, hypnotherapy can be suitable for both adults and children, though the approach may vary depending on age and individual needs. For children and teenagers, hypnotherapy is often adapted to be more interactive and engaging, using age-appropriate techniques that are gentle and supportive. Hypnotherapy can help young people manage anxiety, improve focus, build confidence, and address habits like nail-biting or bed-wetting. However, suitability is assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure the method aligns with the individual’s developmental stage and comfort level.
No, hypnotherapy does not involve any form of mind control - there will be no flapping your arms like a chicken here! During a hypnotherapy session, you are always fully aware and in control of your own thoughts and actions. Hypnosis is simply a state of focused relaxation, allowing you to access your subconscious mind more easily, but you remain conscious and can choose to accept or reject any suggestions offered by the therapist. The process is collaborative, and all changes come from your own willingness and intention to make positive adjustments. Hypnotherapy empowers you to take charge of your mind, not the other way around.
In the initial session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other. You’ll have the chance to share what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you may have. I’ll explain how our sessions typically work and answer any questions. Together, we’ll set the foundation for a trusting, supportive therapeutic relationship.
The first session will also include a therapeutic practice tailored to your needs, such as a mindfulness or hypnotherapy exercise.
Each session is tailored to you and your unique needs. We’ll begin with a brief check-in to discuss any immediate thoughts or concerns, and then dive into techniques based on your goals. This might involve talk therapy, mindfulness exercises, or hypnotherapy, depending on what feels right for you.
Sessions usually last around 50 minutes,
There’s no need for specific preparation. However, you may find it helpful to think about what you’d like to focus on or any questions you want to discuss. Our sessions are guided by your needs and comfort level.
Recordings of these therapeutic practices will be provided to you, allowing you to revisit and use them between sessions to reinforce your progress. These recordings are a valuable tool, helping you deepen your practice, manage stress, and promote healing in your own time and space, supporting the work we do together in each session.
Change is easier than you think! The length of therapy varies for each person, depending on individual goals and progress. Most people can be helped in 4-6 sessions, although some need only one or two and others with more complex difficulties may require more. We’ll regularly review your goals to ensure the therapy is meeting your needs.
These sessions are your time, and Mind Matters is here to support you in a way that feels right for you.
We'll book them in one at a time. When you feel you're resourced and equipped for your next chapter (work, life, relationship, parenting, health, emotions, sleep, school, uni - whatever), that's you complete.
Your first step is to email me using the contact details below. I’ll get back to you to organise a quick first conversation (15-minutes, no charge) – on Zoom or by phone. I do this so that I can better understand what it is you’d like to see change and it allows you to ask me any questions you might still then have.
Please reach out to us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
