Imagine driving to work and suddenly realizing you don’t remember the journey. This “automatic pilot” experience is a form of hypnotic state, where your subconscious mind takes over, guiding you through familiar routines without conscious effort. In hypnotherapy, we purposefully access this natural state of heightened focus within the subconscious to introduce positive suggestions that promote personal transformation. Concerned about losing control during hypnotherapy? Rest assured, you are always in control. The hypnotherapist acts as a facilitator, helping you access your inner resources and align them with your desired outcomes. This process strengthens your mindset, empowering you to make the changes you seek. For those managing pain or illness, hypnotherapy utilizes positive imagery, creative visualization, and focused attention to enhance your ability to cope and manage discomfort more effectively.
Our worries, thoughts, hopes, and dreams all stem from our imagination. The emotions we attach to these thoughts shape how we perceive them, either positively or negatively. By directing our focus toward positive possibilities—what we can do rather than what we can’t—we often find ourselves feeling better.
To create meaningful change—whether it's building confidence, reducing pain, breaking habits like smoking, or overcoming phobias—the process begins with your emotions and imagination. If you can’t feel it or envision it, change is unlikely to happen. This is where hypnotherapy and mindfulness come into play, guiding you through the process of transformation.
As a hypnotherapist, my role is to facilitate change when it's genuinely desired. If you are motivated and committed to making a change, hypnosis can be a powerful tool to help you achieve your goals. However, it's important to understand that I can’t make you do anything you don't truly want to do. So, if you're not ready or willing to change, investing in hypnotherapy might not be the best use of your resources.
PLEASE NOTE: It is advised that people who suffer from epilepsy should not undergo hypnosis. Likewise, if you have ever had psychiatric or psychotic episodes, then hypnotherapy is probably not the right course for you to take. I would be unable to treat anyone in these categories without prior consultation and approval from your Medical Professional.
